How do I update my personal information?
Contact the SMI office to update your address, phone or email information.
In what ways can I support SMI
and its ministries?
We appreciate your interest in supporting the ministry of SMI. You can support
SMI by informing others about our ministry, praying for us and through financial
contributions. To support us financially, you may send a check to the SMI
office, give online, or transfer stock options. For more information,
What percentage of my gift is
used for administrative expenses?
At SMI, we take pride in the fact that we keep our administrative overhead
at a minimum in order to fund our programs at the highest levels possible.
Currently, SMI utilizes 90% of contributions for specific ministry programs.
Are my gifts tax-deductible?
Yes. Because SMI is a recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, all contributions
are tax-deductible as allowed by law. It is important to remember that for
the gift to be tax-deductible, the check must be made payable to SMI and
the donor must understand that SMI has complete control over the use of
the funds. These funds belong to the ministry of SMI, and we contract students
to perform ministry on our behalf.
Can I donate by phone, web or
mail?
Contributions may be mailed to the SMI office or given online through our
Donation page.
How do I initiate my EFT option?
To start the EFT option, simply submit the Automatic Contribution Authorization
form along with a voided check. This form can be found on the Giving
Options page.
How do I make changes to my EFT
option?
To make changes to your bank information or the amount of your contributions,
simply contact the SMI office via fax, mail or email. Since we need your
changes in writing for authorization purposes, please do not call the office.
How do I cancel my EFT option?
EFT options will not stop automatically. You will need to contact the SMI
office at least three business days before the transaction is to occur in
order to suspend or re-direct your contribution.
Do you issue year-end receipts?
You will receive a receipt for each contribution you give to SMI. Because
each receipt will have your current Year-to-Date giving total, you will
not receive a year-end receipt.
To whom is SMI accountable?
SMI has been a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability
(ECFA) since 1990. For more information, please visit their web site at
